  2. Dear Shareware Customer....

  4. Welcome to the Collector's Edition of the JCS Marketing, Inc.
  5. BEST of the www.BestZips.com CD-ROM!  As many are aware, this will be
  6. our last CD we publish.  Economic necessity dictates that we cease
  7. operations as shareware distributors as of 2/28/97.
  8.  
  9. This has been quite an issue!  We have added or changed 267 programs.
  10. Many of the new programs are Windows based, and are much
  11. larger than the previous average.  To accomodate the bigger programs, we
  12. have purged programs submitted prior to 10/1/96.
  13.  
  14. For your convenience, we have added a HTML directory, and supplied some
  15. functional Hypertext files in the directory.  Those on the internet are
  16. aware that they can use their internet browsers to process the CD.  If
  17. you have a functional brower, use it to load the local file
  18. "\html\index.htm" from the CD, and follow prompts.  If your internet
  19. connection is live, you can even follow links to author's sites. 
  20.  
  21. To keep the size of this file at a minimum, other files are available in the 
  22. main directory:
  23.  
  24.    CLASSDIR.TXT    -  Roadmap to our new directory structure
  25.    ALPHA.ASC       -  Alphabetical program List
  26.    CLASS.ASC       -  Program list by Numerical Classification
  27.                    -  Plus other files ending in .ASC for author mailing
  28.                       lists, and other program sequences.
  29.                       
  30. The CD-ROM contains: 
  31.  
  32. a) Class subdirectories, which contain FILES.BBS and LFILES.BBS files for 
  33.    those who wish to directly mount the CD-ROM on a BBS.  Of interest, the 
  34.    main directory also contains a FILES and LFILES directory for your 
  35.    convenience.  For those wanting a single file directory, an ALLFILES.TXT
  36.    and a LNGFILES.TXT file is also available.

  39. b) A file access routine, JCSD.EXE for your convenience.  If an author
  40.    has included a version for vendors, and another for BBSs, the access 
  41.    routine now allows the user to UNZIP the appropriate version.
  42.  
  43. c) As a courtesy to the Author, and for the convenience of using
  44.    vendors, we have included various SCREEN SHOTS 
  45.    supplied by the author.  These files are available for UNZIPPING and 
  46.    use as the user sees fit.  They are most easily accessed thru the 
  47.    access routine JCSD.EXE

  49. d) A directory "VBRUN" which contains all five VBRUNXXX files required by
  50.    some windows programs.

  53. To use the CD-ROM, two options are available......
  54.  
  55. 1.  Simply run from the CD-ROM, as is, by:
  56.  
  57.   a:  Make the CD-ROM drive the current drive.
  58.  
  59.   b:  Execute the program JCSD.
  60.  
  61.   c:  Follow the prompts.
  62.  
  63. 2.  Install the programs and files to your hard disk directories by:
  64.  
  65.   a:  Make the CD-ROM drive the current drive.
  66.  
  67.   b:  type INSTALL x y where:
  68.  
  69.            x is the hard drive to which you want to install.
  70.            y is the drive code of your CD-ROM drive.
  71.  
  72.            NOTE:  DO NOT include the ":" with the drive letters
  73.  
  74.            example:  INSTALL C F
  75.              will install the files to the C: drive from the F: drive.
  76.  
  77.            a subdirectory \JCSD will be created and about 5.0 mb
  78.            copied to it.  You will be left in the directory created.
  79.  
  80.   c:  Execute JCSD
  81.  
  82.   d:  At later points, to execute the program, CD \JCSD, and 
  83.         execute JCSD.
  84.  
  85. Enjoy the programs, and remember the requirement to 
  86. register the programs found useful!  The authors whose works are 
  87. contained have paid for the distribution service, and appreciate your
  88. support of the shareware concept by registering the programs found
  89. useful.
